In July 2002, KCMS was selected as part of a development team from among five bidders by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of Los Angeles County (Metro) to develop seven acres at the Wilshire Vermont Metro Red Line subway portal.

The Wilshire Vermont Station is a mixed-income, multi-family rental apartment and retail development with subterranean parking that includes a Los Angele Unified School District middle school.  Twenty percent of the rental units will be designated as “affordable” at 50% of Area Median Income.  Construction completion and early occupancies began Summer 2007.
